Description/Job Summary

This position is involved in day-to-day interactions with executive level corporate and state government officials. This entry level consulting position provides a career path for future personal and professional growth at the firm. The Project Manager will work with Senior Consultants, Managing Directors, Consultants and Administrative Staff to manage client deliverables. National travel is required and is estimated at 25%. This is a full-time position based in our Firm’s Austin, TX office.

Responsibilities/Duties

General Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Consultants are expected to review periodic activity reports and work with Project Directors to develop strategies to ensure expectations for targets are met.
  • Sellers Dorsey Consultants are expected to travel as needed to meet the needs of client servicing, marketing and business development. Work may require occasional availability on weekends and evenings.

Required Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least five (5) years professional business or government work experience. While not required, experience with Medicare or Medicaid and/or an advanced degree is desirable.


Skills

  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills including ability to produce concise summaries of technical material and develop client deliverables.
  • Secondary research skills. Knowledge of major publicly available resources useful to background research for Medicaid and other healthcare programs is preferred.
  • Ability to exercise mature judgment to identify problems and offer solutions.
  • Immaculate attention to detail.
  • Highly efficient, flexible, and motivated.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Ability to interact professionally with team members and clients.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


The following qualifications are preferable but not required:                                                                                                                                                                            

  • Familiarity with web and social media marketing management tools.
  • Knowledge of state health agencies, e.g., Medicaid, public health, health insurance, and the Affordable Care Act.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
